The inspiration for our Coalition for Neighborhoods graphic comes from a real organization of the same name that worked in Newark from 1978 to approximately 1994. Some issues they worked towards were safer neighborhoods, more jobs, recreation, and public programs.
The collected images below are from the Charles F. Cummings New Jersey Information Center at the Newark Public Library and donated by the Ironbound Community Corporation.
