The Nork! Photo Fest is a cultural activation under the Nork! Project brand. Yearly since 2020 we have organized a Photo Walk which brings photographers from the greater Newark and tri-state area into a neighborhood in Newark and on a guided tour showing them landmarks, murals, tight-knit communities, and small businesses. Our second walk in April 2021 was written up on NJ.com , our walk in April of 2022 garnered 250 guests (see Unique Photo's recap video here), and our first festival in 2023 displayed over 30 Newarker's photography outdoors (see that recap here & here).
In collaboration with Newark City Parks Foundation, we built outdoor galleries in 3 City parks (Riverfront Park, Military Park, Harriet Tubman Square) each with its own curated photography show of Newark photography. The themes for the shows are: Environmental Justice, Portraits of Newark, and Social Activism.
